Major vs Good Indie notes
"Misconceptions"
-People get deceived. They automatically think that just because you are attached to a major label, you automatically will become rich. This is not the case. This is because of competition and overall abilities.
-Makes you a 'star' over time. However there is a massive loan you have to pay back.
-Career is not entirely safe. People that they can get involved with can easily play them. These people are referred to as 'sharks' or 'snakes'.
-Does not happen overnight.
"What do major labels do?"
-They act as banks. They give artists a loan of money to help them achieve their goals.
-They are difficult to obtain, however.
-Have services you normally don't have access to. Such as helping you get more onto media and marketing.
-Here is an example of what they offer:
1) Single Deals
2) 360 deals
3) EP deal
4) Distribution Deals
5) Double Deals
-They sponsor, and have a share of income through merchandise, tours, concerts, etc.
"Biggest advantages"
-Again, helping make your dreams come true, but you have to meet them half way.

Part 2:
-There is not much difference between a major and a independent label, you can do the exact same thing, exact same goals, exact same intentions.
-Artist Value = Sales
-Competition is still the same, still intense
-Independent labels may draw more attention, however.
-Different routes, same destination.
-An opportunity no matter what, focus on your individual goal is the best advice.
